Corporate Fundraising Assistant
Chatham House, The Royal Institute of International Affairs is an independent policy institute based in London. The Corporate Fundraising Assistant will support the stewardship of our corporate members and the delivery of day-to-day administrative and financial processes.
Principal Responsibilities
Contribute to the strategic direction and long-term growth strategies for corporate fundraising, in particular with Academic Institutional and NGO members
Support the team in gathering information to help the Institute better understand corporate sector trends, including budget cycles and funding opportunities.
Help prepare insights and suggestions to support retention and renewal of members and sponsors.
Manage Academic Institutional Members and NGO members, and participate in external-facing engagements across the membership base.
Monitor and respond to emails in the corporate membership inbox, escalating where necessary.
Support the improvements of financial and credit control processes.
Assist with the delivery of the annual corporate reception.
Coordinate the roll-out of membership and sponsorship agreements, support on due diligence processes and ensure accurate record keeping and tracking in the CRM.
Help maintain clear and efficient financial processes, including updating financial records as needed.
Prepare meeting briefs and background notes for senior team members attending external meetings.
Ensure all post-meeting notes are up-to-date and accurate in the CRM.
Develop a working knowledge of GDPR and ensure that all data processing is in accordance with the highest standards of compliance.
Undertake day-to-day administrative tasks for the Corporate Fundraising team.
Assist the Events Production team at Members, Corporate Events and conferences.
Build excellent relationships with the Director's Office, Finance department and research programmes.
Engage in and contribute to Chatham House as a learning organisation and to its positive culture.
Contribute to the delivery of the Chatham House EDI strategy.
Essential experience
Administrative, financial and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to build positive relationships.
Ability to work as part of a team and with individuals at all levels, displaying tact, sensitivity and diplomacy.
Basic understanding of GDPR and a commitment to handling data responsibly.
Able to manage multiple tasks, stay organised, and take initiative when needed.
Self-motivated, calm under pressure, and able to maintain high standards during busy periods or high-profile events.
Some experience working in an office environment.
Computer proficient.
Desirable experience
Operations or project management experience.
Experience with Excel, Microsoft Dynamics and other Microsoft 365 products.
