We seek a Corporate Fundraising Assistant to join our Corporate Fundraising team to drive the day-to-day administrative responsibilities and manage our financial processes.
The Corporate Fundraising team generates income from the private sector, managing over 330 partners and corporate members including multinational businesses, government departments and NGOs. The team is also responsible for developing and convening the Institute’s renowned portfolio of sponsored events.

Key Responsibilities
Delivery
- Assist with the Corporate Fundraising team’s commercial financial administration, including creating and sending invoices and renewal documents for corporate funders.
- Respond to basic financial queries from supporters and assist with onboarding new funders by providing the necessary information and documentation.
- Support the upkeep of accurate records on the CRM, ensuring accounts are updated and accurate, including making nominated member updates.
- Help maintain clear and efficient financial processes, including updating financial records as needed.
- Support the team’s relationship management of corporate funders.
- Prepare meeting briefs and background notes for senior team members attending external meetings.
- Monitor and respond to emails in the corporate membership and conference inbox, escalating where necessary.
- Develop a working knowledge of GDPR and ensure that all data processing is in accordance with the highest standards of compliance.
- Undertake day-to-day administrative tasks for the Corporate Fundraising team and wider Fundraising and Partnerships department.
People
- Assist the Events team at Members, Corporate Events and conferences (when required).
- Build excellent relationships with the Director's Office, Finance department and research programmes.
- Engage in and contribute to Chatham House as a learning organisation and to its positive culture.
Strategy
- Support the improvements of financial and credit control processes.
- Support the team in gathering information to help the Institute better understand corporate sector trends, including budget cycles and funding opportunities.
- Contribute to the strategic direction and long-term growth strategies for corporate fundraising.
- Help prepare insights and suggestions to support retention and renewal of members and sponsors.
- Contribute to the delivery of the Chatham House EDI strategy.
Person Specification
Essential Skills and Experience
- Administrative, financial and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to build positive relationships.
- Ability to work as part of a team and with individuals at all levels, displaying tact, sensitivity and diplomacy,
- Basic understanding of GDPR and a commitment to handling data responsibly.
- Able to manage multiple tasks, stay organised, and take initiative when needed.
- Self-motivated, calm under pressure, and able to maintain high standards during busy periods or high-profile events.
- Some experience working in an office environment.
- Computer proficient.
Desirable Experience
- Operations or project management experience.
- Experience with Excel, Microsoft Dynamics and other Microsoft 365 products.

Salary: £29,000 per annum.
Contract: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract.
Location: Hybrid (Office/Home), minimum 3 days in the office per week.
